EMS Dispatchers Help so Many - From the GRIN
Dear GRIN Editor; I would like to congratulate the GRIC EMS for receiving their Dispatch Certification. Although it may have been difficult to obtain this achievement, it will be of an in-valuable asset to the Community that could save many lives.
I was deeply touched by this article because of the child that was choking on an object on the Reservation. I don't know if this is just coincidence, but in October 2001 I was living in Blackwater when my 14 month old daughter had choked on a balloon she had found on the floor. We had immediately called 9-1-1 but help was far away and she had passed away in my arms. It was my worst nightmare I had ever had to go through.
Although this story may be of another unfortunate incident that had happened to someone else, I would just like to express my gratitude to those EMS Dispatchers for their dedicated work. Though no one knows, this will help so many of our community members in future.
